The annual Port Douglas Marlin Challenge is during the heavy tackle season each year

Anglers from all over Australia and the world come to Port Douglas to undertake the challenge of fishing for one of the ocean’s greatest prizes, the Marlin.

The Marlin Coast hosts the best Marlin fishing in the world with game boats and crews arriving globally to compete from Port Douglas, all with the anticipation of being the one to catch the 1,000lb fish.

MARLIN CHALLENGE 2026

THE 2026 TOURNAMENT IS SCHEDULED FOR FOUR CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF FISHING FROM NOVEMBER 18th TO 21st.

Presentation night on 21st November at Salsa Bar And Grill, Port Douglas.

Registrations and payments must be finalised and completed by 11th November 2026.
